I try everyday to live in the moment because in reality that is all you really have.

My Idea for this Website Welcome! My idea for this website is to show that you can lead a life you want to lead by following your passion and accepting change. Three times a week: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday I share with you, on my blog, my writings on Life, Travel and Passion and how they affect you. By following your passion (which is travel for me but will be different for you) you can achieve a life you want to lead without falling prey to leading a life that you have to lead. I’m leading by example and showing it’s possible!

What Kind of Traveler Am I? If you were ever wondering what kind of traveler I am, I have an answer for you right here. I would like to think I’m a person who can rough it all the time but that isn’t true at all. I do like to splurge on expensive things when I can afford it. I love clothes and I love looking nice whenever it’s possible. I think it shows respect especially when I’m traveling.

Now don’t assume that I can’t rough it either. I’m just saying it wouldn’t be my first option and if I have the money I would rather be more in a more comfortable hotel or better seat, etc… even if it’s more expensive. I don’t view it as pretentious or anything like that. We all have our preferences while we travel and we all have our limits we can handle. When I’m roughing it you will definitely know because I will have no problem vocalizing it. I can handle pretty extreme conditions and usually those are the times when you learn a lot about how much you can handle or you become very humble. But there is also nothing wrong with looking nice while traveling the world and don’t judge me for it   I will say though part of this journey to see the world is to not be comfortable physically and mentally.

I see the world as a big canvas where there is so much opportunity for me. Places are constantly changing so just because some one else has written about it doesn’t mean they will have the same experience as me. In fact they won’t. Everybody has their own perspective and even the speediest traveler can’t get to everything in the world. Because it’s always changing! And that is the exciting part. There is always something to say and do that will be new. I view the world as a book that has hidden knowledge and life changing. Join me why don’t you!

More about me… My name is Shawn and I’m from Plano, Texas a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Ever since I was little the only true passions I had in life was traveling, languages and constantly learning about the world. Recently I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and looking for a life that is a life I want to lead. Since college I have changed my views about the world after reading books such as Eckhart Tolles A New Earth and the Power of Now, or Elizabeth Gilberts Eat, Pray, Love.

I was not raised religious and I knew very little about other religions or spirtuality. But… because I wasn’t raised to think a certain way or be a certain person, I was able to step out of my comfort zone in college and start investigating who I actually was.. I have come to find out that I’m more spiritual and above all I believe in myself and the present moment. Found out that it was something I have always believed in actually.

While in college, I realized that I’m in fact gay and I was able to accept myself because I had no prior context telling me not to. But probably the most important thing I learned while in college is that I was meant to experience the world, travel, learn languages, live in the moment and always search/find passion. No passion = A pretty dull life. My sole purpose now is to do all of the above and continue to focus on the things that make me happy. You only get one opportunity to lead your life and the universe (the word I replace as the being that exists in all of us) is constantly reminding/telling/showing you what is best for you.

My objective for this website and in life is to find purpose and meaning without any regrets or fear. To stop defining myself and just be and just do.

I do believe that life is too short to not live the life you want to lead so that is my goal. To lead a life that I want to live.
